Part 1: Boning Up (Lecture)
Arm yourself with the facts of bone health. Osteoporosis is not a part of normal aging. It does not only affect older women. Discover the origins and consequences of osteoporosis and how we measure it, prevent it and treat it. Understand the practical applications of this information: how to interview your clients about osteoporosis and design exercise programs appropriate to their level of bone density.
Part 2: The Exercise Solution (Lecture/Demonstration)
- How can exercise help fight this disease?
- How do you assess your client?
- How do you determine the proper level of intensity?
